UST (underground storage tank) system closure is a technical process of excavating and decommissioning old fuel and oil storage tanks.  They can also contain other non-petroleum hazardous substances, such as solvents and wastewater.  UST removal requires compliance, health and safety standards, and contamination standards along with various permits and data report submissions.
